I love the Tending Roses series. I have read 3 of the books and am heading to the bookstore tomorrow to buy the next one. The characters are so real and so believable in their trials. I can't wait to read more.

Lisa,
I so enjoyed your recent presentation at Layland Museum in Cleburne. I bought Tending Roses, Texas Cooking and Talk of the Town from your mom that day. Those were inspiring and I've since read Lone Star Cafe, also. I'm looking forward reading your other works. Once I find a writer I enjoy, I read everything they publish, so keep 'em coming.
Blessings,
Mary Ann Parrish

It is such a relief to be able to read romance books without graphic and gratuitous sex scenes. I love the earlier books and your Texas trilogy was such a hoot! I just fell in love with the characters and can sure relate to moving from city to small town and all the quirks you encounter! I happily recommend these books to all my friends and they all love them and want to share - but not give up their own copy. On that note, is Texas Cooking ever going to be published again? Right now the least expensive USED copy is from Amazon for $14.95. Makes it hard to buy copies to give to friends!

Keep up the good (and clean) work. It is a joy to have your works to look forward to. Write faster (smile)! Nan

Dear Ms. Wingate....I just wanted you to know how much I have enjoyed your books. You put down in print, thoughts I have had and wondered if other people had ever had those same thoughts. Because of your books, I have learned to be a better grandmother and be able to answer questions my granddaugther has asked that I haven't always been able to verbalize before. I haven't read all of your books yet, but I am trying. Thanks so much for making a difference in my life. Sincerely, Betsy A. May

I've been a fan for a while now, first reading the Tending Roses series and then the Hill Country books. I almost feel like we're neighbors, though I live a bit south of the Hill Country. I was pleased to be asked to write a review of "Talk of the Town" for Story Circle Network. Like all of your books, I found it to be most enjoyable!

Amazing that I just found you!! I will now get everything you have published. At eighty years young, I am an avid reader, "pink lady" volunteer, mother of four, grandmother of eleven. Your characters are so real and grandmother's recollections had me in tears.
GOD BLESS YOU AND YOURS.

Texas Cooking was my first introduction to your amazing work. I actually laughed out loud when reading the part about the Peacock. My grandparents had them and I know the sound all too well. I immediately picked up Lone Star Cafe and Over the Moon at the Big Lizard Diner as soon as they came out and couldn't wait to read them. I just saw on your site that you now have Talk of the Town, so this weekend, I'm going shopping! I love reading your books with characters who are like "real people", but who have morals and strong values. I wish we had more of that in real life.

I ordered Thousand Voices from a book club and loved the writing so much that I then read the other books in the Tending Roses series. I love the Christian point of view that coexists with good writing. Will be looking for the Texas series and the new releases.
